What is Neighborhood Church all about? The short answer, is Jesus. We desire everyone to know, love and live for Him. We have been talking about how we do this in our messages recently.  Our church is an intergenerational church that empowers each person to live God’s purpose for them. As we move into a new season, we are examining the environments we are working to create in order to help each person to be empowered, and work to their fullest abilities!

environments

1. A Supportive Environment

The church is not merely a place you attend; it is a people who tend to each other. We all need friends that support us, people that know us and “have our backs”. We become as strong as the people who make up our lives. What would it look like to be involved with a group of people who really encouraged each other? That is our goal for you. We endeavor to welcome, listen and include people in the life of the church. The center of that life is our love for Jesus.

2. A Learning Environment

The second environment is where we learn about the faith. Growing in your faith is something that you learn. It is not automatic. It requires your involvement. The heart of what we learn is a story. You become as strong as the story you tell yourself. The Bible is the story of God and how He interacts with people. As you to listen to and learn that story, you find the strength to live a life of love and confidence

3. A Missional Environment

You have a calling from God.  The third environment is about our mission. The church’s mission comes from Jesus. You are called to live for something larger than yourself. Together we join Jesus on His mission in the world. God’s mission is to redeem the world and restore it to its intended purpose. Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself.”  Your mission, your calling is first to love God and then go beyond yourself to become a neighbor to someone near you.

As we continue to work and grow together, my prayer is that we see these environments expanded beyond just what happens in Neighborhood Church.  I am excited about where Jesus is taking our church, and I am excited that you are here to be a part of it!

Blessings,
Fred Fay
