Our Mission

SCROLL DOWN

Our Mission

Empowering people for the mission of Jesus Christ through transforming environments and meaningful relationships

Neighborhood Church is firstly a Christ-centered Church with a heart for the community. We strive for a welcoming environment that "feels like home" where anyone can come as they are and feel God's love. We are associated with Assemblies of God ministries.

We have a calling to love God, follow Jesus, and be led by the Spirit.  We are people who love the people of our city and pray for it to flourish. Jesus calls us to join Him on the mission. God’s great mission is to reconcile all people back to Himself. He sends us into our community to partner with others as we serve together.

Our Values

Our Values

We are Jesus-focused

We follow Jesus mission wholeheartedly. We actively take the message of Jesus to the people of our community and beyond.

We show the love of Christ by being actively involved in our community and in the world.  We will work with apartment managers and residents to help people develop community and life-skills.  We will partner with schools, businesses and churches to help our city flourish.

We are a praying church

We keep a daily intimate relationship with God, depending on Him for everything we need.

We participate in expressive worship. We live life with an awareness of God and experience his presence together. We organize prayer events.  We help people to develop personal prayer times.

We are encouragers

We equip people to follow Jesus through training and mentoring.

We believe every young person needs a mentor to help him or her navigate life and grow in Christ.
We will have weekend experiences and ongoing training events.

We are inclusive

We are a welcoming community church.

People feel at home here. We are intentional about including people in our life together.

We are family

We work together in healthy relationships.

We will initiate small groups for connecting and personal spiritual growth.

Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

There are seven essentials to our faith as Christians and to our ministry as a church that we hold to be true:

 1. About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.  He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.

2. About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father.  Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross.  He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

3. About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is at work in us. He lives in every Christian. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual ability to serve believers. He is co-equal with the Father and the Jesus Christ.  All believers are should seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit. We live to be under His control daily.

4. About the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us.  It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.

5. About Human Beings

People are the supreme object of God’s creation. We are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”.   This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell.  To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life.

6. About Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved.  Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

7. About the church

The Church is the place where God is active by His Spirit. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church.

We want to sincerely thank each and every person who has given their support to this church.  We recognize that Neighborhood Church could not hope to accomplish what we have without the prayers, time, and financial support of each of its members and attendees.

As such we want to make available our financials and annual reports, so that you can see clearly where your investments have gone.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Lead Pastor, Fred Fay.

Welcome Visitors!

We are so glad that you're here! We want you to feel welcome, and our hope is that this church can feel just like home for you.

We believe that we have a mission. That mission began over 2000 years ago with the life of Jesus, and He has sent us into the world to be light in our community. We believe there is one Church united in this mission in Pierce County; we are just one expression of that mission.

Our story involves a history of over 50 years of serving the University Place, Washington. We do not claim to have it all together, but we believe that as God enables us, we will serve our community with our resources, abilities and energy. We invite you to come and experience a family who loves and follows Jesus together.

Come sit, fellowship and worship with us as we explore the deeper aspects of living our lives in service to Jesus Christ.

About

Neighborhood Cafe: Questions Welcome!

Neighborhood Cafe: Questions Welcome!

Questions welcome: What is the most pressing question about your life, the Bible, your faith or the world we live in? Let's talk about it.

The purpose of Neighborhood Café is to discuss questions about life, God, and the Bible. It exists to give spiritual curious people a safe place to talk.

Our Core values:

·      Respect: The best environment for discussion happens where open non-judgmental conversations can happen.

·      Discovery. We grow in our faith when we are able to discuss and discover our faith.

·      Expectation: Anticipate that God will be involved in your conversation.

What is Neighborhood Café?

A place where 4-12 people get together on a regular basis to discuss life and faith. At this point we are only an online discussion. Future plans are to have a location to me.

Email me if you would like to get started. fred@myneighborhoodchurch.com
